History
In early 2009, a team of seven from King Edward Medical University proposed projects for four new medical schools. On November 27, 2010, Punjab Chief Minister Shabaz Sharif laid the foundation for four new medical schools including DG Khan Medical College. The first batch of 100 students was admitted in the 2010-11 semester and their courses started at the Quaid-e-Azam Medical College in Bahawalpur, So which was transferred to the DG Khan campus on November 28, 2011.
Professor Niaz Baloch appoints as the president of the newly established medical school. Campus
The college is located a short distance from the DHQ Hospital. So the campus is spread over 229 Kanals of land. However, the DHQ Hospital is located adjacent to the college.
