- Candidates who have passed HSC Part-II (Pre-Engineering) Annual Examination 2015 or earlier Annual Examination. 2013 with at least B-Grade 60% overall marks are eligible for regular, self-financing scheme and special scheme.
- Are eligible to apply for admission under Candidates having HSC Part-II in (General Science) with at least B-Grade 60% overall marks are eligible only for Computer Systems, Software, Electronic,s, and Telecommunication Engineering.
- Diploma of Associate Engineer in Relevant Technology (for Chemical Engineering Diploma) Chemical / Glass and Ceramics Technology) Annual Examination 2015 or earlier Annual Examination 2013 with at least 60% aggregate marks under the regular scheme.

Interviews
After receiving the results of the pre-admission test, a comprehensive merit list is prepare and several candidates are called for an interview before the admission committee. Interviews are conduct at MUISTD on dates announce in newspapers and on the website. Candidates are also require to bring their original certificates for verification. The names of those candidates who failed to appear before the Admissions Committee for the interview on the due date and time without any notice will remove from the merit list and will not consider for admission. Thus, their absence from the interview would be tantamount to depriving them of their right to enter.
Closing of Admission
Admission to the session will be by the end of the fourth week from the start date of the classes. No new admissions will accepted after this period. However, any changes to the program will made 7 days after the last date of admission.
Mehran UET Merit Calculation
The Merit List of the candidates for each district/category will be prepared by calculating. The overall merit, is based on the marks obtained in SSC, and HSC. And Pre-admission Test, multiplying them with the respective weightage and adding the result to calculate the CPN- Composite Percentage Number.
