Islamia University Bahawalpur establishes in 1925 in Bahawalpur as a religious university. In 1975, Jamia Abbasiyya declared a General University, and its name changed to Islamia University of Bahawalpur. So The university is now in 45 departments offering 74 subjects. History

The predecessor of the Islamic University was Jamia Abbasia, a religious university founded in Bahawalpur in 1925 after the academic pursuit of Al-Azhar University in Egypt. So In 1975, Jamia Abbasia was declared a regular university and changed its name to Bahawalpur Islamic University.

Overview

This university starts from the Abbasia and Khawaja Fareed campuses and has ten departments. Later, 1,280 acres of land was allocated to the university on Hasilpur Road, about 8 kilometers from the city center, and the road became the Baghdad-Jaded campus. So It consists of 45 departments and provides 74 disciplines. In 2015, the university ranked 11th in the comprehensive category.
