The Ministry of Health and PMDC issued a notice on the establishment of Bannu Medical College on August 31, 2006, and the opening ceremony was hold on December 18, 2006. Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital is a 600-bed hospital located in Bannu Township. The construction of the hospital was completed in 2010 when it was also opened.
